Congratulations to all African Awareness Committee members, your wonderful work and dedication have been fully recognized by Camosun College's Award Committee and we have been honoured with an Excellence in Community Impact award. Francis Adu-Febiri and Francis Yee will receive this award on Nov 12, 2009.

The 2009 Leadership Award winner is Steff Miska. Steff has volunteered in a school in Ghana and plans to re-visit the school in Fall 09. Her bio & work on Africa available by clicking the button on the left.

In 2008 our first award was received by two students, Shanna Dance from Arts & Science and Andria Young from the Business School . Shanna had volunteered in Tanzania ’s New Era School for nine months and Andria had undertaken extensive work for the Grace of God orphanage in Uganda .
